Monument Valley
It was humbling to drive through Monument Valley. I felt so small, wandering across the vast space between giants. The silence in the desert made me respect how the landscape withstood time, and will continue its way for centuries to come.
Zion National Park
Zion reminds me of how big of a wuss I am. Most people go there to hike Angel’s Landing, and guess who makes it 90% of the way and couldn’t get past the chained area because of her fear of heights?
Regardless… The walk up to the peak still had excellent views.

Camping
Desert camping is so comfortable. There’s little chance of rain and it’s nice and warm throughout the whole day.
Desert nights are magical. Without any light pollution from the city, you can see all the stars.

The Narrows
It was by chance that the Narrows was added to our itinerary. One day before this long-weekend road trip, a coworker briefly mentioned The Narrows and we realised it was near where we planned to camp.
The walk was unique and memorable for me, as it was the first walk I’ve done which required wading through water. The rock formations and water levels changed throughout the walk. It was refreshing compared to the desert landscape surrounding the area.
